Hello!

I bought a prizm for my first tank(55gal.) because it was the cheapest one I could find. It was a waste of money. For a few dollars more you can get an Aqua C Remora which is a very good skimmer for smaller tanks. My father has one on his 55 gal. and it does a great job!

Well I personally disagree, I think if you read around you will find that they skim a little wet, make some noise but not too much but all in all do a really great job on a small system. I wouldn't put it on anything bigger than a 40 gallon though. I bought one used, cleaned it up a little bit and it works like a champ on mine.

I agree with Chuck on this....while the AquaC skimmer is probably a tad bit better its also more expensive if memory serves me correctly. I have used the Prism skimmer and liked it. I do remember that If I didnt clean it often then it would constantly need to be adjusted which was a PITA but I also think it gave me better husbandry skills which I think is needed especially on smaller tanks.

With all the cash you make.... LOL J/K The prizm is an okay skimmer certainly not the "best", but certainly not the worst... (Skilter) Once we work on putting that 150+ in your wall we will get you a better skimmer for sure, something from here: www.myreef.com that is where my next skimmer will come from too!
