Here's what my MR-2 has been doing for me. I want to vomit everytime I clean it.

You all must be millionaires

Here is my current skimmer I am working on. I cannot afford to by those fancy Euroreefs and whatnot.

This skimmer is 34" high will be powered by a Sedra 9000 Recirculating Pump, and a Little Giant 3MDQ-SC External Pump pushing through a Kent Venturi for extra foam. Should be pretty cool once I've finished. The Sedra pump is the most expensive part of this thing obviously. Had the Little giant so I had to spend 110.00 for the Sedra 900, includes the Venturi and Needle wheel. I had everything else lying around.

Here is a simple needle wheel unit. Uses a large powerhead with a needle wheel. Plug and play, simple to clean and skims as well as my former Older Euroreef. Plus cheap to purchase, well at least in skimmer terms.

Meric don't forget to count your TIME in the cost equation. Good luck with the DIY, mine didn't work out so I ended up buying one. If you want some DIY plans, google Snailman, he has some excellent DIY projects and they really work well!
