Remora skimmers
Anyone know the difference between the Remora, and the Remora Pro? With everyone here praising them, I thought I would upgrade, but there seem to be 2 different models? Anyone know? If this is a stupid question, please disreguard. Thanks in advance,

The Remora Pro is a larger version of the Remora rated for tanks up to 120gal. The Remora is rated for tanks up to 75gal. IMO they should be run on maximum tank sizes of 55 and 100gal.

Thanks for your quick reply. I am going to use it on a 55 fowlr. Looking a lil further, from what I have found is maybee the pump operating it is the major difference. Do you think the Remora or the Remora Pro is better suited for a moderately stocked 55 gallon with about 80 lbs of rock, and a 2-3" live sand bed? I am currently changing about 10 gallons a week to keep my trates down with a SeaClone 100. Would be much happier if it were only 5 or 6 to keep nitrates down to 10-20 ppm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

For the slight difference in price, I think the Remora Pro with a Mag pump is a better choice.

Again I would have to second Scott... Wow this is becoming a habit..
![]() Anyway, I run a Remora on a heavily stocked 25 gallon. The total system volume might be 33 gallons or so and my skimmer is working most of the time. Of course there are different things that will effect that. One is how you set the skimmer (I like it wet )Another is bio load. Atributing to that would be your feeding habits (light or heavy). Just some thoughts.... RUN THE PRO.... ![]()
