Equipment Suggestions

I finally have the money to set-up my tank properly.

What are some suggestions/opinions on the best Protein Skimmers, UV Sterilizers and RO/DI units? Tank is a heavily stocked 240g semi-aggressive with live rock.

Thanks for your input.

For a skimmer I like Euro Reef...model will depend on a few factors such as tank size/bioload etc. My ro/di came from buckeyefieldsupply and was a little expensive but the time he spent with me explaining everything was worth the extra cash. I don't run a UV because I don't feel that I need to.

I ahve an asm, which is much like the euro but alot less expensive, and it works great. Thusly for the extra money savings you could purchase a larger version. I agree you don't need the UV sterilizer, I have one and don't use it. I purchased my Ro/Di unit from an ebay store and they had great customer service via e-mail, and the thing was only $90 for a five stage filter, it takes my tap water from 168 TDS, to 4 TDS, not bad for an inexpensive unit.

Premium Aquatics has a 4 stage RO/DI that they manufacture......

I purchased one and it is of professional quality, clear canisters, jaco fittings.and they also told me that the Kent Marine filters and membranes are completely interchangeable with this model. For the price, you are getting a system that performs as well or better than the $200 rivals.......I love it!
