which skimmer to get?

so which hob skimmer is better, The old reliable aquaC remora pro with a mag drive 3 rated up to 120 gal, or the new coralife super skimmer rated for 200 plus? It will go on a i25 gal reef tank.

I haven't used the coral life skimmer. But, it would surprise me if it works as well as the remora. Remoras are very good skimmers and very reliable. You can't go wrong with that skimmer!!

Remoras are great -- I have one on my 55 (w the mag upgrade.... ). You might want to explore your options with some of the larger skimmers though -- you will be pushing the skimmer on a 125 if you go with the Remora. You should get a skimmer rated AT LEAST the volume of your tank, if not more.

If that's 125 gallons .. I'd go with something far above the remora pro. Had one [with Mag] on my 58 - liked it, but wanted more. Guaranteed, I'm not your usual customer ... but I've found for many skimmers the ratings should be cut in half to 1/3 for it's `honest rating'.

Not sure what to recommend for that size tank, to be honest ... but of the two, I'd probably go with the Remora. But I'd be tempted to look further [Precision Marine, Deltec, Tunze all make nice hang-on skimmers that IMO out-class those mentioned above ... sadly also outprice them]
