When to add live rock?

I finally got my tank built and running (sort of). The temp has stabilized at 80 and the S.G.at 1.023 so I felt it was time to proceed. I put a few (4) shimp in 2 days ago and was unsure when to add live rock, and if I should go with cured or uncured? The price is the same at intmarinefish.com, also, is Caribean (sp?) rock suitable, or do I need to go with fuji? I'm not in any hurry, and want to do it right the first time. Any help would be great.

You should have put the rock in before any livestock because even if the live rock is cured there will be some die off during shipping and will need some additional curing. I would say three weeks anyway.

Good point. I would also increase the S.G. to 1.025 for a typical reef. If you can get cured liverock this will reduce the curing time.

I should have been more specific, the shrimp were the grocery store variety trying to get the bacteria cycle started. I most likely won't put livestock in for several weeks.

I have cycled both my tanks with the live rock in them. That will get the bacteria going!!
I prefer figi rock, or for that matter any rock from the S. Pacific. It is less dense than Florida rock, and you don't have to buy as much.
