where to buy a tank

Im thinking about buying a new tank, somewhere in the range of 100 to 150 gallons. While buying from my lfs would save me from paying for shipping, they have been known to over charge by hundreds of dollars on expensive equipment, so im not sure it would save me any money. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a better place to make the purchase.
thanks a lot

Hi Franklin,

There are som reputable (and not so reputable) manufacturers available to you. LeeMar is one that comes to mind as is Inter American Pet Supply in Canada; Oceanic also does custom work but can be expensive.

Here are some questions:
Is this a custom size tank?
Do you prefer low-iron glass over regular glass?

You can also check out used equipment. I found my 100g acrylic tank on Craigs List. the tank, a wet/dry and cannister filter, UV sterilizer, powerheads and pumps, all for less than $500. I don't use all the equipment, but deals can be found.

the best thing to do is shop around, look for deals and be patient -- which is the key to this hobby.

Try glasscages.com, I have never purchased from them, but their prices seem right, and of there is a reptile or fish show happening, you can pick it up there. Will save tons on shipping.
