Evaporation & Top Off........
I have since upgraded to a 55 gal sump and the evaporation on a daily basis is considerable. I use RO/DI for top off and water changes. My concern is that my top off water is pure, and by adding it to my existing main tank water, will affect the PH and alkalinity. Is their a certain way to prep my top off water? I store my top off water in two 46 gal Brute containers. Since my top off water is pure, should I add some Osmo Prep or some sort of buffer to it before adding it to my main tank? Or should I leave it be?

only thing evaporation remove is pure h20. you are adding is pure h20, all buffers are still in your water. Just top off the same rate as you tanks evaporation rate.
