Right now I have a 175gl FOWLR with a wet/dry sump and a protein skimmer. I am not having any problems but was wondering if I should add any other type of filter to it? I am going to make a refugium to replace the sump.

I am all for a refugium with different types of macro algae for nitrate reduction and oxygen production. Also a great place for pods etc. I have noticed that phytoplankton seems to be present in the system as well. If it continues to propigate its self in the fuge I don't know for sure but it seems that way...... Just a thought....

I think your all set with mechanical equipment. You might find the the bio-media in your wet/dry (if there is bio-media in use) may not be necessary and may actually cause problems.
Nah, I just have the blue plastic dillywhoppers.
