Hmm... I don't usually have that trouble. I am sure you have adjusted it down for now. THen in a few days you can turn it back up.

I believe that after cleaning the unit, you'll have to keep the flow low for a few days. The microbubbles are normal after cleaning the unit and will disappear after a day or so. Then you can gradually increase flow

I've never had a ER, what kind of flow controls do you have for it?

all there is (QUOTE It's literally plug and play! Unpack it, put it in the sump and plug it in. On the hobby models (which are all but a few of the largest ones) there are no valves, no screws no nothing. A simple adjustable riser pipe makes "dialing up" a foam level a snap. Want wet foam because you just cleaned the algae off the glass? Raise the pipe up a bit. Adding new water, food, live rock, resins etc., which often make a protein skimmer go nuts!!?? Just lower the pipe a bit.... THAT'S IT!!

this thing will not stop filling up all day long plug it in empty cup after one minute and also its not like skimming foam, just clear water after foam all pops.

So now its been 2 days that my skimmer has not been ON.

Anybody have any ideas or solutions
thanks

Hi Jerrod,

When you cleaned your skimmer, did you also do a water change or any other tank maintenance? If so, did you add anything different to the water? Some additives (like "Stress Coat") have made my skimmer go nuts.

Also, did you use anything but plain RO water and paper towels when cleaning the skimmer? Is this the first time cleaning it?

Anyway, just thinking out loud here. What if you took the skimmer and ran it in a bucket of plain water? Will it do the same thing? If so, I would think there is some residue in the skimmer pipes making the foam.

I didnt do anything differant than I always do .
skimmer was just getting a little to green so I decided to clean out the cup and tube.ect nothing over board.
I did do a water top off like always every week.
I did run it in a bucket of plain water
didnt even get bubbles.
So when I plug it in the fills up instantly then eventully the bubbles start coming out of the lid .
so I just let it do it for about 20 minutes .
It didnt even seem like it was slowing down .
think I should just let it run?
to see what it does.

what do you guys think?
