I tried searching using the keywords 'AS 350' but found nothing. Do you know the manufacturers name?

I googled it and came up with one hit on a Singapore Reef Club board: http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/inde...howtopic=29615
Maybe it's a local product?

Hi all ,
No it is not a local product / not from Singapore . But i think it is from Taiwan ?? Can't remember the exact website for this product. BTW , can i just check , I am using a venturi pump to output bubbles to my customised Atman skimmer.. foams is good .. it produces for me lots of moist & smelly skimmate, however it makes a lot of hemming sound, sometimes it is getting real loud . i connect the pump using PVC pipe to hose and to pvc pipe then to the skimmer container . Are you able to advise me on reducing the noise or new methods ? rgds Mman |

Sometimes vibrations will result in a humming sound. Vibrations from the pump can be transmitted by rigid PVC piping. Here are a couple of things to consider: Flexible tubing between the pump and the skimmer may help reduce/eliminate this sound. Placing some sort of padding under the pump and under the skimmer may help reduce/eliminate noise. Also, make sure that you don't have any rigid PVC piping that is touching your sump or other piece of equipment and causing vibrations to be transmitted.
My setup is plumbed with a combination of flexible PVC and flexible vinyl tubing. The vinyl tubing is just a few inches long (~10 cm) connecting the return pump to the sump and the skimmer pump to the sump and to the skimmer. I have pieces of padded plastic place mats (like you use to put under dinner plates) under both pumps and under the skimmer. I also had to wrap a small towel around one flexible PVC return pipe where it was touching the corner of my acrylic sump to prevent it from sending vibrations through the entire sump. The first thing you need to do is determine the source of the humming noise and then devise a method for dealing with it. Good luck! ![]()
