Filter Floss

Anyone have a picture of filter floss in their overflow box. I would like to use some to help clear my tank up a bit, but I don't understand how to use it.

I don't know if using it in the overflow would be a good idea, it would be bad to get sucked through the drain and stuck and restrict flow. With that said, I think somewhere in your sump system would be better.

You mention to help clear your tank, is it cloudy or are you just trying to polish the water? If so I think carbon would be better.

I just have alot of debris floating around. I really don't have any place to put a pad or sponge. I would like to stick some floss somewhere just to get the particles out. They drive me crazy. My wayer would be crystal clear without them (well, nearly).

Any ideas on where I can stick some floss?

Try this. Get a pantyhose and stick a bunch of floss in the end of it and attach the pantyhose so that all of the water coming from one of your drains has to flow through it.

Just be sure to clean it/replace it often.

I probably wont keep it on 24/7. I plan on just using it when I need to clear some debris, then take it off again, till the next time.

Having that on there shouldn't really restrict the siphon much, right?

I would think, if it does the other drain should make sure it keeps flowing.
