Water Flow
Just set-up a 90Gal. I don't want to use power heads instead I'd like to rely on only the main pump to provide the water flow for the tank. I'm running a GenX pump at 982gph is this good? Mixed tank softs some accra..ect.
Thanks |

Hi Randy1,
![]() I think you will want a lot more flow than your return pump can provide. If you don't want to use any powerheads you stuck at looking to setup an external closed loop (that is one without additional drilled holes) or your stuck using internal pumps. If that's the case, I would use some Tunze Streams. They are big but give lots of flow from a single unit. |

RE: Water Flow
Thank for the advise but what do you really mean when you say a external closed loop system??
Thanks |

Hi Randy,
Well I failed miserably at my attempt. This would be an external pump that has plumbing coming from the tank to the pump input and plumbing from the pump output directly back to the tank. Here is a thread with a picture or two that might clarify: Noisy Closed Loop |
