RE: Tunze
I'm thinking of adding a Tunze stream to my 90Gal. I woild like to also use the one with the controller but I'm skepical becouse I've tried the powerhead wave makers in the past and thier really not all that great and thise is much more expensive. Does anyone use this set-up for current and or wave simulation?
Thanks Tunze Turbelle Stream Kits (with controller) |

Outside of a good closed loop system, I think the Tunze are the most effective at moving water in an aquarium. I don't have them, but I have seen tanks where these are being used, and I am a believer. With a controller, you can create the random flow that you want to create.

I don't use the controller but believe me, this isn't anything like the old cheapy powerheads and wavemakers of the past. You will be very pleased with the pump output and the controller options.

I have a 90 gallon with a 6060 in it, and MAN does that thing move the water! Depending on what happens with my DSB in the next few days, I amy end up going bare bottom and adding another 1 for flow purposes!

RE: Tunze
Thanks for all the responses. I like my sand bottom, is this Tunze going to dig holes in the sand and be a constant problem or will the controler help that?

I believe that with the controller, you can dial them down to the point you want. Chances are tho that it might rearrange the sand bed a might until you get them dialed in. IMO, they are a great unit, and I don't even use them!!!!!

I had to find just the right spot for mine since I don't have the controller. It did make a few peaks and valleys but for the most part it was pretty easy to place.
