Refugium/Skimmer question

I have a 55 gallon tank I bought from Pet Smart with the stock wooden canopy and cabinet that comes with it. I want to setup a tank with a Aquafuge Refugium and Aqua C Remora skimmer. Will these products with with my canopy. I cannot tell whether they would fit or be constructed byt he canopy. I do not care if they are in back of the canopy and can be seen as they extend higher than the canopy. My concern is that they will not fit and I will not be able to use the canopy with these products. Does anyone have this type of setup and can you please tell me if these products fit ?

Thank you

Mike

I guess no one has one of these setups. The best advice I can give you is to measure your tank and canopy as well as the Remora and refugium you want.

I think they will be fine as long as you have large enough cut-outs in the back of the canopy for them to hang in the tank.

Hello,
My father had the same setup before we added a sump. We had to cut a 2 1/2 inch slot out of the back of the canopy for the skimmer. It wasn't hard to do and the skimmer worked great. He didn't have the hang on refugium.

I too wouldn't think it would be that big of an issue. If you get the items and then cut the canopy you should get a really good fit around them.
