Rave reviews on my Ca reactor

Not only is Ca and Alk maintained but also the ph swing is kept to a minimum. Corals are growing like mad as is corraline. The pics speak for themselves. Especially on the return line that isn't very old. Enjoy

Yes it is. It's the fastest growing coral I've ever seen....I think it grows faster than Xenia. I'm gonna let the corraline take over for a while before I scrape it. It's taken me this long to get it growing like that and I wanna enjoy watching it spread for a bit.

Chuck,

It's nice to see coralline growing but make sure you scrape it off, I can't see inside the tank for crying out loud. Seriously, though, it is nice to see things take off. I had the same experience when I added my calcium reactor.
Accidentally, I hate coralline now becouse of the time it takes to scrape it off. Some places are unreacheable and it is taking over there...makes it look like I'm a slob...

da da da da DA I'm loving it.

But seriously I already hate it cause in my 75g it grows so fast and I don't understand cause I do nothing to it but a WC every now and then. But the 20 gallon has been my baby since the beginning and I'm glad to see it take off in a more positive direction after all the problems. What really makes me sad now that everything is growing like it is is that I will run out of room and won't really get to see what a large colony looks like. I know some of mine will table out etc but I don't have the room for that.

Chuck,

I have coralline growing like mad in my anemone tank and I don't have reactor on it or dose anything anymore.Water changes do everything as far as replacing everything. I think it is nice to see a coralline growth in some plating forms and such, I have it in my anemone tank on some rocks and it is the only place I like it.

Anyways, don't feel bad about not seen fully grown out colonies, none are fully grown in anyone;s tanks except some really large tanks.Like Kevin;s or Steve Weast, for example. To be fully grown some colonies need to be few meters in diameter, at least.
I agree with you that it is nice to see your 20 making such a comeback, goes to show ya that persistence and hard work pay off eventually and it is a tribute to your growing skills as an aquarist.

Your Monti has the exact same growth as ours does which is why it stood out to me. It's growth is a bit different that other monti we have. And although the polyps appear more silver to me, it's a nice little coral.

Thanks to both of you for the words of encouragement. Zhenya I have some plating corraline in my 75g that came on some tonga branch from Rick and It's a really neat beautiful burgundy color. In a way I'm glad you never sent me any frags although I do have a few places to put them it might be good that I don't have any more now that I see how fast these suckers grow in the right conditions.
Scott, that colony always looked like crap...very dull until I put that huge skimmer on the system. The polyps have gotten a nice blue/silver hue to them that I can't seem to capture in pictures. The base color has darkened up a bit too making the polyp color pop out. I have another place in my tank where the blue digi has encrusted and is growing really nice. I broke the large colony off of it and keep it rotating around so it doesn't attach. It's growing way too fast and I know I'll have to frag it up soon. It doesn't seem to mind being rotated every 3-4 days and your right about the growth being different from the others. Very random pattern. That particular one is fist/baseball size right now.

Fantastic Chuck! That 20 sure has been through a lot, and you have stuck with it the whole way through! Keep up the good work!

Here is a frag I recently took off of our Monti that shows some of the blue/silver polyps pretty well.

It's actually my favorite. Remember when I was trying to get a frag from you? Well I found one not long afterward locally and all I got was a 1.5" piece. It's grown to what you see in the pic in six months or so.

Yeah for a while ours didn't grow at all (other problems) but it seems to be doing well now. Is yours fairly brittle?

Mine is Scott! That thing will snap if I just brush it. Heck I'll bet if I set it in front of the Tunze, it would break!

Mine is like that too Mike. I am still battling some low pH and thought that might be the cause. Our Tang can swim through the branches and break them off.

That's odd. The only other digitata that has stronger branches than my blue polyp is a yellow polyp I acquired from reefscience.
