Deltec Mce600 Just Arrived 2nd Hand - Is This Ok Or Broken?
hey,
I got on ebay this item for about £108. now its the first time I've ever installed a skimmer before being a noob etc looking at the diagrams on the instructions it shows the pic of the inlet pipe, leading down the box, and then turning left plugging directly into the main venturi engine (whatever its called now on looking at the device, and checking it over etc, I see on mine that the bottom of the pipe is more angled at 45deg towards the glass - so in effect its only pointing halfway towards the motor and not actually plugged into it? is this normal or is there something wrong with this? I couldn't seem to see any way that I'd be able to get into it to replug it directly into the box so I'm worried if its broken :s I've attached a pic - I hope you know what I mean - I don't want to install it until I 'm sure I'm not going to cause a flood cheers, Tuck |

I've been told that it should definately be in the hole
![]() any way I can fix it? I tried taking it to bits as much as possible - the plastic column going down, to the left of the wrongly turned pipe is glued in place and can't be budged. the one to the left of the motor that seperates the wires does come out. I tried to get my girlfriend to squeeze her hand down it and turn it through the hole that its meant to be sticking through but it wouldn't budge I don't want to force the other one open as removing its seal would surely cause a leak or something in the wrong place am guessing. please help, Tuck |

thanks,
after a good hour or more, I (well my girlfriend as my arms are too wide), finally managed to get it back in - after a good bit of swearing, and a few lacerations and bent forks. there was some bit of plastic that normally resides behind the pump to stop it from moving backwards that must have come loose in transit.... it was mainly such a hassle because the way it was angled it was wedged in tight to the hole. thanks tho. now I just need to work on how I can best get it running optimally having never used one - but I'm getting there slowly |
