Help with "Coral Sea" CA reactor...

Okay, so I used to work in an aquarium store that was purchased by new owners. In the back on a shelf was a Calcium reactor they just wanted to toss...I figure I might as well take it. Problem is, there are no directions.

The Reactor was made by a company called Coral Sea, and has both Chinese/Japanese and (very poor) english. It has no instructions inside, whether it ever did is a mystery to me. The inside was filled with oyster shells., but it (the reactor) is still new and sealed, so it came this way.

There is an "in" and "out" tube ends coming out the top, and a tube coming out the bottom, which I assume is for an air pump?

Anyone know of the reactor Im speaking? Anyone know where I can get instructions on how to run it? How long? Best mix for inside?

Seems a shame for it to go to waste......
Thanks!

Not much to setting up a Ca reactor........We're going to need some pictures.

There should be a pump for circulating water in the reactor, a inlet and outlet for the effluent and a nipple somewhere around the circ pump output for the CO2 line....

Yeah...got all that. if the CO2 line is plugged, and the unit is plugged in, it does turn on and pump water from the tank and back.

Not sure I understand....are you using the same pump to circulate the reactor and feed it from the tank? I know some reactors are setup to do this, I've never seen one work good this way.

Yes, there is only one pump. Whether it works well or just okay isnt really my concern...it was free! Pictures of the box to follow shortly

Okay, here are a few pics. I guess my question is, what is the best thing to use inside? Do I just plug an air pump into it for CO2? How often/long do I run it?

It seems to function mechanically fine, taking water from the tank and putting it back in.

You'll need a CO2 tank, regulator with needle valve, bubble counter (you might have one on the reactor) and a PH meter. I run Geo marine from CaribSea in my reactor, there are all kind of media's you can run. Most people probably use ARM by CaribSea.
