Cool Any experience on these pumps?

http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...product=CP7117

I need pumps that are EXTREMELY quiet! The setup is in the living room, and these Poseidon pumps boast only 30db!

Has anybody used/heard (or not heard) them? How is the quality? I was initially thinking of either Iwaki or Pan.

thanks

I have never used this pump. But have you ever used the Sequence Reeflo pumps. I have two of them and they are extremly quite. This is where I purchased mine http://www.saltycritter.com/pumps/sequence_reeflo.htm free shipping also. Very good guy to work with.

The Dolphin Amp Master is the quitest pump I have used. The Sequence Reeflo Dart might be another good choice for you. I have two Reeflo Barracuda's, their not as quite as the Dolphin.

Have the Dolphins got past their seal problems they had some time ago?

Scott,
I guess that depends on who you talk to and what seal you use. I think me and George bought a couple of their very first pumps. Mine worked great for about a year, then it started having restart problems. I contacted Dolphin and they sent out a new seal. The pump worked just fine for then next 2-3 years then I started having restart problems again (about 3-4 months ago) The pump never leaked, just wouldn't restart if the power was cut.

I really like the Sequence pumps with the Baldor motors. I've worked at milk, ice cream and soda plants for the past 25 years, I'd say 90% of the pump motors we use are Baldor's.

I've never used an Iwaki or Pan world but my buddy used to have an old Iwaki on his 150 in the garage. You could hear the pump screaming from the street with the garage door down That pump needed to be rebuilt in the worse way. Their all good pumps, what kind of flow are you looking to get? what size pipe do you plan to use?

i'm working on a ten foot long tank. it is viewable on three sides, so returns will have to be plumbed over the top. what do you think? this will be in the living room, so the pumps have to be quiet!

I have an eight foot tank and I use the sequence pumps. It is also in the living room. I have one pump on a closed loop and the other feeds the sump. The closed loop is ran from the top. I put the pipes feeding the sump are going through the bottom of the tank. I put them on a durso system to make the water noise quite. As far as the pumps go I do not hear them. I also placed them on a piece of foam to take care of the vibration noise if any. I did this just because of my last pumps. May not need the foam but I did it any ways. I can not hear the motors at all. Good look with the project
