Been gone a longtime
Hello, I've been out of reepkeeping for about 4-5 years. Funny thing is that my post about selling livestock a long long time ago got two responses in the past 2 weeks asking if I still had it for sale. Those responses brought me back to the site and I began reading and getting the itch again.
My question is, what is the state of the art filter system nowadays? I know it changes all the time. When I left the hobby the big thing was the ETS and downdraft skimmers and refugiums.

Hi Ag NSX, Welcome back!
Things are always changing but powerful skimmers, lots of liverock and refugiums are still big. I think beckett driven skimmers a the most popular now and for refugiums, well the bigger the better! ![]() |

Hmmm, maybe some of my old stuff is still useful. Gotta bust out the lights and pumps. Do we still use metal halides and VHO's? I'm old school.

Yup, MH are still the best lighting. Obviously over the years there are new ballasts and bulbs introduced and the popular flavors here change often.
