skimmers
I have a 55 gal tank and would like to know when should I get a skimmer? The tank has been running for a little over a month with 2 damsels in it for 3 weeks. Also what kind of skimmer should I get?

Now, an AqauC Remora would be a great choice!

I would agree with Reefland. The Aqua C Remora is a great product

Aqua C remora pro would be my choice also, with the Mag 3. The rio could possibly create problems down the road.

Scott and Charlie, have you guys looked at the Coral Life super skimmers? Don't get me wrong the Remora is GREAT, but the Super skimmer has impressed me lately. At the LFS I go to, they run a couple of them. It really pulls out the gunk too!
As far as reputation, you can't go wrong with Remora, or the CPR bak pak, or I'll add the Super Skimmer to my recommendations. |

I'm liking my new Red Sea Berlin turbo. It pulls out lots of gunk. I got it because I'm planning on adding ozone soon, and it is advertized as being made of ozone safe materials. My water is much clearer already, and I haven't even gotten the ozone generator yet!

Are you looking for a HOB skimmer or a in sump model? If in-sump then I would go with a EuroReef. I have one and its awesome.

Re: skimmers
Mike, most of the people in the reef club here run the coralife superskimmers but they mod them a little. I've seen them on a 125 and a 180 and a 72 gallon. They do work and the tanks look great.
