sump/refugium size?

Does the size of a sump/refugium matter?

I have a 100g and have the opportunity to buy a refugium that is already set up, just disconnected today (Saturday). It's only about 14g, however.

Does siz matter?

I could use a response quickly. Thanks

Nate

welll, a small refugium is better then no refugium, but ideally you want one to be as large as you can possibly get.

course having said that, you could always add this Refugium on as an "addition" to an existing one..... remember that the more water in the system you have the easier maintaining stable water parameters becomes.

how much are we talking about here for this 14g tank?

That would be a great sized refugium. A lot of people use the hang on units by CPR which are much, much smaller than 14 gallons and they do what they are designed for. The question is, what do you want to do with your refugium? If your looking to have a multiple utility vessell (frag tank, mangroves, 20lbs of lr, etc.) then sure these hang on units aren't going to work.

Anyway, yes that is a good sized refugium.
