questionable quality eye catching title

hey i was just wondering ok ther is this lfs that is pretty good most the time that has live rock for $4 a lbs and an other fish store that is great all the time that has lr for $8 a lbs should i go for the cheaper or the more expencive or the less expencive (oh yah and its both fiji LR)

Take a look at the rock. Some people do treat rock better and therefore get more things to survive, so it would/could be worth more money. So, evaluate the rock and what it looks like. But, I would probably buy 50/50 assuming one is more base rock and the other is higher quality. There is no need to pay more money for rock that is going on the bottom of a structure and get covered/shaded.

I'm always surprised at the variety of prices for the same stuff at our LFSs.... it's not like Walmart where the prices are the same at every store! It does pay to shop around if you're lucky enough to be in an area with several stores.

This is typical of LFS. I sometimes see a $2 or $3 price difference per pound on the same type of live rock. Remember they are in business to make a profit. I get my best prices on-line. However, you must cure the rock yourself no matter what before putting it in your tank.
