advice on powerheads? help

as of right now i have one maxi jet 1200 and im interested in buying another one. do you think to maxi jet 1200 are to powerful for my 20 gallon ? also im buying a natural wavemaker.

this is an intresting question because i dont think it is to much flow but might be to high of a velostiy if the output is aimed at any life.. this is the reason people are modifying these pumps..... see maxijet modifications to much flow is one of those impossible to reach situations. how much flow is there on the reef.

The nice thing about the Maxi Jets is you can deflect the flow pretty easily. In the corners of your 20gal, up high, away from any animals that might be damaged by the strong flow, and you should be fine. You might want to make the simple modification that was talked about on an earlier thread.

Two Maxi-Jet 1200's on a Natural Wave timer system won't be too much flow for a 20.
