RO/DI question??

I purchased an RO/DI filter online over a year ago, but can't remember where I purchased it from. If I remember correctly, it was supposed to produce about 60gallons/day and did so. I haven't used it in several months, but it now produces that in a few hours. Would lack of use cause the filter media to go bad? Would replacing the filter correct this? Thanks in advance for your help.

It is possible that the membrane could have dry rotted, but I would think that would take longer than a few months. But, if water is just flying through the unit, it does not sound like the membrane is working right. I would probably replace the membrane, prefilters, and DI cartridge.

TDS=total dissolved solids... there are cheap meters to test this. One of the sponsors, Aqua Fx sells them, if you're interested.

Yeah I did, found a model number of the DI filter. It was a Spectra-Pure filter. I ordered all new inserts and it works like it was supposed to. I haven't tested for TDS yet, but will shortly. In the meantime, I did a large water change the other night and everything looks great. Thanks for asking.
