refugium cycle
Im makeing a fuge and wanted to know if I need to cycle it the same as I would the display tank, before I connect the 2 together. I bought some sand for the substrate and I am going to put a few pieces of very small live rock debris that I have in my main tank and some chaetomorpha and gracilaria that I will be adding to it as well. Any suggestions?? The sand I got is not live sand if this helps any, I will be adding about a cupful of the sand out of my main tank to seed it.

Nope, just hook it up and start it up. The only reason it would need to "cycle" is if you were adding uncured liverock to it.
