Big Skimmer in small tank?

HI there, today i ended up geting a coralife super skimmer; the biggest one rated for tanks up to 220 gallons. In the future I am getting a 90 gallon setup so i couldnt pass the deal up on this skimmer. Right now tho my tank is only a 33 gallon and I hooked it up to it and removed my small seaclone clone skimmer. do you guys think this would be a problem? Like the skimmer is almost bigger then the tank! lol

From what I have seen, those Coralife skimmers are a bit overrated. I am sure it will be fine for your 90, but not good enough for a 220. That said, it is probably only a little too big for the current 33, but should not cause any problems.

well from what i know on what a skimmer does you might enjoy benifits other than removal of organics. the high air water interface inside a properly operating skimmer will give you great gass exchange which only helps. i have seen some huge skimmers on small tanks and it can only make your job of looking after the tank easyer............
