Holy crap! My tap water fluctuates between 17-20 ppm. I guess my ro membrane should last atleast 100 years then!

Not that I need to do this, but could I dechlorinate the water and use it without the ro?

I woudn't....you could try running it through a carbon block and then a DI and see what you get. There's a lot of low level things your TDS meter wont pick up. I don't even use my TDS meter anymore because it wont measure the low levels I need it to.. I use a PO4 colorimeter, once I see my PO4's start to rise off my DI I know its time to change em.

If your tap water is city water I'd also question the reading your seeing from the TDS meter. I haven't see any readings that low posted.

checked today and it read 50ppm. So, it does fluctuate. Wish I knew about a PO4, I would have gooten that instead.
