Excess Bubbles In Main Saltwater Tank.

I HAVE ALOT OF EXCESS BUBBLES IN MY MAIN TANK.

I RECENTLY ADDED A WET DRY FILTRATION SYSTEM FROM A CANISTER SYSTEM. SETUP THE WET DRY FILTRATION SYSTEM( SEALIFE SYSTEMS MODEL # 100) UNDER MY TANK. I USE CONTINIOUS SIPHON OVERFLOW SYSTEM ( SUBSTITUE FOR DRILLED HOLES). I HAVE A Jebo Odyssea PS75 Hang-On SKIMMER.

SEEMS LIKE I HAVE SOME AIR BUBBLES COMING FROM THE SKIMMER, I THINK I HAVE SOME BUBBLES COMING FROM THE WET DRY SYSTEM I SETUP THIS EVENING.

WILL THE AIR BUBBLES DIE DOWN. DO I NEED TO BUY SOMETHING FOR THE WET DRY FILTRATION SYSTEM TO CAME THEM DOWN MORE. MY FILTRATION COMES WITH LOTS OF LITTLE BALLS, BLUE AND WHITE FILTER MEDIA, A BLACK COARSE SPONGE TYPE SYSTEM. DO I NEED ADDITIONAL STUFF.

I ALSO 250 GPH POWERHEAD RUNNING. I SHUT IT OFF AND IT SEEMED TO SLOW THE BUBBLE DOWN.

THIS IS SETUP ON A 55 GALLON TANK. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS OR MODICATIONS NEEDS CHANGING . THANKS.

I WAS TOLD A WET DRY FILTRATION SYSTEM WOULD KEEP THE AMMONIA AND NITRITE LEVELS DOWN AND KEEP THE MAIN TANK CRYSTAL CLEAR.

DO I NEED TO RUN THE CANISTER SYSTEM TOO. IS IT OPTIONAL OR IS IS OVERKILL.

The canister in addition to the wet dry is optional and overkill.

It's difficult to advise on how to stop the bubbles until you identify where they are originating... if they are from the skimmer, you may need to add a bubble filter (like the coarse black sponge thingy that the sump has)... if it is from the wet dry, you may need to check and see if you have it set up right. The black coarse sponge should stop any bubbles.

Also, if your tank is very new (less than a week or two), the bubbles may just die down as your system cycles and gets a good slime buildup on all the parts.

Most Are Coming From The Skimmer, I Have 2 Black Sponges On The Skimmer . I Cleaned Them Tonight Also But I Also Hooked Up The Wet Dry Filtration Tonight Too. Cleanup Of The Tank . Maybe It Was A Combination Of The 2 And Running Of The Powerhead . I Shut The Powerhead Off And Seems Like I Am Only Getting From The Skimmer Right Now.. It Is Being A Pain , It Is Filling Storage Cup In A Few Minutes With Water .

Sounds like your skimmer needs to be broken in and/or adjusted. If it is filling the cup with water, the flow is too high. That can cause bubbles to get into the tank.

is it coming from the body of the skimmer or the water exiting the skimmer or the pump or one of the connections .. where means alot, pictures are the test but its hard to get pictures of these areas can you find out where the bubbles are exiting the skimmer from
