IME, this type of coral can put up with higher nutrient levels than anything else. This tank, according to you has only been up for a year, and the nutrients will continue to build up, due to some rather inefficient skimming and filtration. In my opinion, you are just asking for trouble. but like I stated, this is only my opinion. Good luck to both of you down the road.

Charlie, I appreciate and respect your thoughts. I'm currently using the Skilter 250 on my new reef tank but, based on what I've learned thus far, I do feel that I'll need an upgrade in the near future. I'm in the process now of researching different Skimmers. Trying to avoid a HOB and hpoing I can find something that will go under the tank, inside the wood stand.

There are a ton of better choices out there, believe me. I can't keep up, and I am not a guy that really understands the new skimmer theories either. If you need some help, shoot me a PM, OK?
