150Gallon Fish Only Filters???

Hello all...Im a newbie over here!..glad to be here as it seems to be a great site...Well I just upgraded to a bigger tank and im not familar with the sump type filters as ive had other smaller tanks where ive just used (hob) and live rock etc....I have a 150g and it has been drilled with 2 overflows in the right hand back corner..the guy i bought it from had a 55g tank for the overflow tank but he kept that for his new setup...I have the 2 hoses for the overflows and a decent sized return pump...my question is...for a fish only tank at the moment...may turn it into a reef tank but it may be awhile down the line...what should i do for a filter system..i know the bio-ball setup is pretty bad, but i dont think im gonna have that much live rock to help to much...should i just get a big tank, big rubbermaid tub/cooler..or fork out the cash for a wet/dry...I have a very nice skimmer that came with the tank..so this is pretty much all i need help with right now, this is my first BIGGER tank..wish me luck!....thanks for any help...

Best advice i could give is to take your time and think LONG AND HARD and try to see as far into your future as you can. If you see yourself going reef, then plan accordingly. Just what ever you do, don't rush..

I have made plenty of mistakes for doing just that.

I believe the consensus is..

High Bio Load / Fish Only - Wet/Dry
Reef or Lots of LR - Sump/Refugium

I started with a Wet/Dry but ditched it when I went to a bigger tank and just recently finished building my sump/fug.

Good Luck,

thanks for the reply!....Will be fish only for prob. quite awhile,...Sand bottom..and alittle live rock..not sure on how much exactly, just some nice chunks on the bottom...If i do end up going with the wet/dry filter, can i remove the bio down the road and replace the chambers with live rock...or will something like this be 2 small...
