AquaC EV120

Hi all, let me first thank you all for such a wonderfull forum. I love being able to share so much information so easily!
So here is me question, for those of you that currently own or have owned an AquaC ev120 I am wondering if and how youve been able to achieve a fine skimmate product? I currently run one in my sump on a 75g and Ive had it for about a year now but Im unabale to get it to produce anything other than a tinted liquid soup.I should mention that I have run this thing on a dolphin 560 and currently switched to an equivilant magdrive. So how about it? What pumps are you guys running them on? Have you got ball valves or gate valves controling the feed line? Do you always leave the air intake completely open as per AquaC's directions are do you shut it down a little.

Thank you all for any assistance you can offer.

Matt

I just got a AquaC ev240...just a little large version of the same model, but it took mine nearly two weeks before it did anything. I did get the larger pump (AquaC recommended a Mag12 or Mag18 - I got the 18). I have a ball valve on the line, but it is wide open. The air intake is wide open. It is now producing dark green smelly stuff after initially producing some pale, watery stuff for a few days.

So you've had it running for a year... that sorta rules out break in issues. I'm guessing you don't run the calcium reactor or the ozonizer through the skimmer, also. I'm assuming you've adjusted the gate valve so that the water/foam level is at the recommended level. That being done, I think you can adjust (turn down) the air intake to get thicker skimmate. Good luck.

P.S. Have you given AquaC a call or sent them an e-mail? Most companies in this hobby are more than happy to discuss problems and advise...
