This coming weekend I am picking up our ProClear Aquatics Pro 75 wet/dry. Does anyone know what size plumbing comes with this? Do I need to buy anything other than a pump for this system? I am ordering a pump and Glass Canopy tops for this tomorrow. Does the standard glass canopies sold at Drs. Fosters $ Smith for a 75 gallon be o.k. width wise for the overflow box or will one off them be too WIDE?

Besides a utility pump, you will need some tubing. ...And if you're anything like the plumbing challenged at my place, a shop vac that handles small floods, and a bottle of extra strength tylenol will come in handy. |

Just checked tubing - you're going to need 3/4" ID.
Sorry, not much help on canopy though, my tank is currently open while the lighting challenged attempt to figure it out (the plumbing challenged are still trying to get the collection cup to collect). New bottle of Extra Strength Tylenol is on stand by. |

Called Pro Clear yesterday and they told me it comes with 5/8" i.d. tubing for the return. What I do not get is they suggest a CAP 2200 pump for the wet/dry and that has a 3/4" fitting on it. To me that sounds like its not gonna fit. What are they thinking? If I have to, I'll get either an adapter or some 3/4" tubing and a reducer so it fits on the return nozzle. Oh what fun I maybe in store for. Excederin Migrain works real good for headaches. P.S. I am gonna get a RIO pump on sale at Drs. Foster & SMith for $31. My LFS wanted $50 for the same pump. As far as the glass tops for my tank I should have no problems. Actualy it looks as if they will cover some of the overflow because it sits lower in the tank than the side with the prefilter.

I hate Rio's. See here:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/cav1i4...ower_Heads.htm and http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/volume...rhead_comp.htm An E.G. Danner/Supreme Mag-Drive pump would be a far better choice in my opinion. They are much more reliable and just as reasonably priced. |

I'm not a fan of Rio's either, I used a Supreme Mag Drive.

I decided to go with the Mag Drive 5 which will give me my 300gal/hr at 4' of head. I think I am going to need an adapter 5/8" slip x 1/2" FPT. Does this sound right?

If your tubing is 5/8" ID, you need a 1/2" FPT to 5/8" hose barb fitting.
