How can I safely clean my empty tank

Hello everybody. I have not had an aquarium since I was 10 years old. So I am a big newbie. I now have a 70 gallon and would like to start a reef. I am still in the process in reading as much about it as possible and selecting the equiment to run. I have been reading your posts in the forums and learning from everybody. So for that I thank everybody you have all been a big help. I am very excited about all the different directions I will be able to go and the whole hobby in general. To be honest I would love to have as many tanks as I can afford and maintain. I have been to a bunch of local fish stores as well.

My question is with my new tank. I bought it from my brothers friend. He had an oscar in the tank alone but it died. So I got his tank. I was wondering how I could safely clean the tank to make it as clear as new again. Right now it looks kinda milky. Can I use regular glass cleaner???

White wine vinegar works well to rid the glass of hard water stains and it is safe. Just rinse it out afterward.

I would find out if your brother's friend used any copper based meds before you turn it into a reef tank.

People say copper gets into the glass and is VERY hard to remove. Copper is not good for a reef tanks, it leeches out and will kill you inverts. When doing a reef tank it's always best to get a new tank.
