    What pump?

    Hello!!!
I'm about to place an order for my 90 gallon, I was considering a Gen-X (PCX-40), I have a Lifereef prefilter box with 1" tubing to my 18 gall sump. Would this be too big for my set up?(Overkill) I will ad a 10 gall Fuge and a Coralife SuperSkimmer 220g also.

Thanks in advance for the help..

A single 1" drain can move about 600GPH max, how many GPH is that pump, at the height of your tank?

As for the Corallife skimmer, I like them, BUT the ones I have been tinkering with lately seem pretty sensitive. If they are not tuned "just right" you get a nothing, or a MESS! Also the pumps are pretty bulky, and have to be less then 3" deep in the water. I guess that doesn't matter much if it is in sump, but if you are hanging from the display, it is unsightly to say the least.

The pump is rated at PCX-401190GPH22 ft3/4" MPT110WMy tank is at 4' and I need to consider thea addition of a chiller in about a month. Should I consider a MAG 12 or 18 instead??

    Thanks

THe MAG pumps would be easier since they can be run internal. If you do the 12 or the GenX pump, you could T them off and use a couple ball valves and run your return and chiller no problem!

I LOVE MAG pumps! I own 2 MAG 12's, and a MAG5. Just get a good T, and some ball valves and you will be all set.
