RO/DI Issues.

I have a three stage 24 GPD RO that I added a DI to and man it is taking FOREVER to fill up my container. Any ideas to the problem or should I add something like a piggy back kit to help?

At maximal output, the 24 GPD will produce only one gallon in an hour. One way to deal with it is adding "drinking water" kits that include a tank - mine is 2 gallons. It not only makes sure you have 2 gallons on hand, but it also pressurizes it so it comes out faster (instead of the drip drip drip).

John that's normal for such a low output RO/DI. I have a 50 gal a day. I get a 5 gallon bucket every two hours or so. I would say your best bet would be to Get a larg container. (Kmart Tuff box works GREAT). Buy the float switch. Set the tub somewhere out of the way and run your RO/DI into that with the float switch (no overflow). I have mine on a shelf above my sump, and I have a spout in my box. so I can easily do top offs.

I have it sitting above a 50 gallon container with wheels. I used to get 30 gallons easy in one day, now it takes two weeks after I added the DI.

Have you looked into the pressure from your house line? All RO/DI units need at least 35psi to work properly, so maybe something simple like booster pump can help?

I would try the easy things first, Pull the DI off and re-set it. And try again. Other then that I agree with Zhenya. Home Depot sells a pressurte guage. I think it's like $12.

You should have plenty of pressure from your water supply. If you got 30 gal. per day before installing the DI, then remove the DI. There may be something blocking flow in the DI unit.
