tank is bowing!

Hello out there happy 4th wknd...i noticed something with my 37 gal. tank today...I don't know if its always been like this or what...I purchased this tank from a friend...last weekend I had to break the whole tank down and remove everything ...today the front panel of the tank is bowing (acrylic)..like i said i don't know if its always been like this or what...its not leaking...i'm leaving for vaca tomorrow and dont have the time to get a new tank...has anyone ran into this before...thanks crete...

Most tanks bow somewhat, how much are you talking about?

Thanks for the reply Mike...I have a glass canopy,when the ends of the canopy is snug against the top front panel of the tank the middle is about 1/8" away from the top frame...so i'd say 1/8"...thanks

I wouldn't worry about that. My 135 bowed more then a 1/2", the more water the more bow...

I had this on a 75 last fall the thing broke acrossed the back on a Sunday morning lucky I was home, really flooded the living room, I didn't loose any animals though. My advise is don't use this tank, buy a new one.

I would keep an eye on it for a good while. If it starts bowing anymore, use a rachet strap as a temp fix until you get a new tank. Just don't pull the strap tight just snug it so it don't bow anymore.
