    Trouble with a skimmer

I have a Coralife 65 needle wheel skimmer in my 55gal, which had always worked fairly well. But at the suggestion of my LFS I used E M Tablets to battle a green slime algae problem that I was losing for quite some time. I turned the skimmer off while following the instructions on the package but now my skimmer just fills up the collection cup almost instantly. It froths up and over enen on the lowest setting. I cleaned the skimmer in a vinegar water solution last night and rinsed thoroughly. It was skimming OK in that bucket but once I put it in the aquarium it started overflowing again. Any one have any idea what I should do next??
    Thank you all.

This is normal after using Erythromycin. I would do a large water change to dilute.

Ive done two 10-12 gallon changes since. I guess I'll just do another and see what happens. Thank you for the response, sorry it took me so long to get back. Its been crazy around here lately. LOL

Also make sure your Air Silencer Inlet Tubing is not obstructed, this can cause it to overflow.

My Silence tube is clear. I ran the skimmer in a 5 gallon bucket and it bubbled as it was supposed to, and the bubble action was controllable. But as soon as I put it in the tank I was all done. I just did a 15 gallon WC about an hour or so ago and the skimmer seemed like it was going to work correctly. But then I looked over and it was about to overflow. Right now I have tape over the air vent hole in the lid to keep the bubbles down. I'm hoping that just keeping it running helps get it going right. So to recap I have now changed about 35 gallons since the last dose of erthromycin and the skimmer is still acting up. Anymore ideas? I'll be forever grateful...
