not sure about that one but the most important thing is to make sure the filters and membranes are standard sizes. i bought the typhoon 3, it came with all the bells and whistles, tds meter ect.. just needed to buy the $10 float, plugged in the line and wola i have my autotop off system as well.

That unit will be fine. I think the most important thing to consider is the manufacturer. Ensure you are getting a unit from someone that will provide the best support. The units are all pretty much the same...

I hear the lower the gallons per hours the more they remove. I bought a 50GPD Coralife and really like it, and it was about $150.

I see a lot of non-mainstream units on ebay for sale, has anyone purchased one? They seem to be able to provide all the replacement filters/parts, so that is good. here is a pic of one that goes for $62, I know it sounds riduculously low but who knows.

I once bought a 100 gpd RO/DI unit through eBay from this company www.filteridrect-water.com I highly recomend them. They are extremely helpful on the phone, they have made me special deals and even provided excellent deals even for items they don't typically stock (they ordered it in for me).

I called them up, told them which unit I was interested in, told them which parts I din't want (bladder tank, faucet, etc...) and they even threw in a TDS meter. I don't know of TDS meters still come with them though.

No offense Scott - but I'll have to differ with you on this one.

There are significant differences in the systems on the market today. Everything from units configured very oddly, differences in sediment filters, carbon stage(s), ability to treat chloramines, membrane quality and output, DI resin quality, and customer service, among others.
