In the market for a new skimmer AGAIN.

Ok well I cheaped out the last time and bought a Corilife Super skimmer needlewheel. I just keep having problems out of it. It's really starting to get on my nerves. I basically will have it running for 2 days. Working well. I'll get the next day. It's pouring waters. Air line is not not clogged at all, Everything is clean. It just isn't doing a great job. So I'm looking for new ones. What are you guys suggestions on a new one. I don't want to spend for then $450 or so. I have a 150gal with a 50 gal sump/ref. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Or any suggestions on what I have.

Go to Lifereef Filter Systems Jeff can set you up with a great skimmer with pump for around $450. He is great to deal with and backs his products. I got a complete system from him, sump, skimmer, calcium reactor, came with everything I needed to install and step by step directions.

What are your height limitations? How tall can you go? What other space limitations (if any) do you have? In other words, some of the shorter skimmers take up more "floor space."

Will this skimmer go inside your sump or outside?

Actually the Super Skimmer in hang-on and in sump, and I'm running it in sump. But I think I may have got it working well after all. Thanks guys.

I've got a Reef Octopus NW-200 skimmer and it is doing a good job. It has set and forget for the most part (first NW skimmer, so I gotta play around).

I'm running it on around 150gal. and it pulls out lots of nice gunk.
