tank dimension
just want to ask, is there a specified standard dimension for tanks? or can one build a tank of any height, length and width?

Hey Gunfish and Welcome!
Most aquarium manufactures create stanard size tanks. However you can build or request to have a tank built to any specification you desire. It will just require you to build or have built a stand on which to place it. ![]() Hope that answered your questions.

Here is a link I found that lists the standard sizes used by AGA. Most other builders use similar dimensions.
All-Glass Aquarium - Quality Aquariums, Stands, Hoods and Cages That being said, you can build a custom tank and stand any size / shape you want. Just keep in mind that surface area and not volume (gallons) determines how much bio load the tank will support. (For example I have a 60 gallon tank that is 24x24x24, if I built a tank that was 24x48x12 it would have 2x the surface area and would support many more fish even though it would still hold 60 gallons.) |
