Smile Ozonizer

I'm about to buy a new ozonizer for my tank, and I think I've settled on the Ultralife 360. Is this a good one, or do you have another recommendation?

Do I need to order the "UV safe" tubing separately or is included? What other extra things will I need to set it up (I already have the water line injector)?

Thanks!!
Holly

Holly, I'd stay away from the units that have the contoller and generator built together. Been there, wasted my money on that. You need to inject ozone via a skimmer or other means and also filter the water going back to the tank through carbon. Using Ozone isn't easy and should be done with caution. You just can't inject it into the tank.

When I got my MR-2, I went ahead and got the ozone port, too.

What ozonizer would you get to hook to an MR-2, knowing what you know? My MR-2 is on a dedicated Rio 3100. (The entire rest of the tank system is on a Blueline 40.)

I keep reef carbon in my skimmer sock at all times, and I have a phosban media chamber I'm using since my phos were high. I have ROWA in it right now, but I could certainly use it for carbon.

Thanks for any advise you could offer. I don't want to do anything disasterous to the tank. I had several fish die of Ich about a month ago, and that probably could've been prevented had I had ozone going properly.

My primary concern is getting the tank hooked up in such a way that the water is at optimal quality.

Thanks

Holly, I didn't know you had one of Andy's skimmers (good choice) If your injecting ozone into the skimmer you want the water returning back from the skimmer to go through carbon before it goes into the sump\tank, this is important. You might want to ask Andy what he suggest. I use an old Red Sea Berlin skimmer to inject ozone into my tank and then run the output of the skimmer through an old Zeovit reactor filled with carbon.

I've read good things and bad things about this Ozone generator ozone.enaly.com I'd give it a try...your going to need an ORP controller for it. You'll also need an air pump and some air dryers. Check www.marinedepot.com for all this stuff....
