Yes they are. I think that is why your skimmer looks the way it does. It seems a lot of skimmer manufacturers are "emulating" EuroReef lately.

Glad you got a new one! I hope it serves you well. Post a pic of the "scum" when it really gets broken in!

Looks to me like the Reef Octopus skimmer. I've got the NW-200 and it's almost identical, just bigger. Good skimmer.

yeah i think they may be made by the same company because the pump is made by Octopus.
do you rate yours?

It works very well. I did reem out the elbow from the pump to the skimmer to make it a little wider and I drilled out the venturi hole to be able to slide in RO tubing. I added a flow meter to that to have better control of air and it is working better than stock. I also added the gate valve mod, really does nothing performance wise, just makes it easier to adjust when needed.

Good skimmer for the money. But I think there rating are greatly exaggerated.

mine will be on a 250lt tank and the skimmer is rated for 500lt so it should be ok.
i was thinking of doing the gate valve mod on mine aswell that way i can direct the flow in to a fliter sock, and have easyer controle over the flow.
