What capacity do i need?
Hi I'm new to these forums but have been lurking for a while.
I've decided to get my first setup going now i have a vague idea from these forums and the books i've read, what I need but what I'm not sure about is the capacity of certain items. I will setup a 50G main tank with a sump of about 12G. The sump will hold my protine skimmer, live rocks, return pump, a UV steriliser. but what I'd like to know is what size ( do i need for these items: - protine skimmer - return pump - UV filter Also is 12G big engough for the sump? I'll make it bigger if i have space in the cabinet as I'm going to build it myself. ![]() Any help greatly apreciated. Cheers, Mike |

balls
that was another thing that confused me as well...
Do I need bioballs in the sump or is this what the live rock is for? I have a lot to learn about all this and I am well aware of that, I want to make sure that I get everything right before I start ordering the bits and pieces. Mike |
