info on starting a saltwater fish only

I currently have a freshwater tank and am thinking of upgrading to saltwater. I would like to know what equipment that I can use for the saltwater tank. I have a 55 gal tank, penguin filter and magnum canister filter. Can I use any of these on the salt and what additional equipment would you recommend? I have been doing a lot of reading and sure I will have many more questions.

Search the site a little more. There are a lot of threads on converting from a fresh water setup to salt. The big question is was the tank ever medicated with copper? If so, don't use anything. If not, the magnum can be used for carbon filtration and/or closed loop circulation, and somewhere on the site you will find instructions for converting the penguin to a hang on back refugium. For your biological filtration, you will need to get 50 - 100 lbs of live rock. I think it's Posidon over in the reef aquariums forum that regularly posts a link to a large thread on setting up a FOWLR tank.
