Durso stopped working

Just noticed today that my Durso standpipe stopped working, or is not working as well as in the past.

I noticed the water dumping into the sump was a trickle with the standpipe. The water was so slow my return pump was pumping it out faster than it returned.

I took the durso out and there was much more water flow. I checked the cap of the durso, played with covering holes or removing cap altogether and no change. The water is not filling the 90-degree elbow and draining down.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Re: Durso stopped working

Only thing I can think of that would cause this would be a snail or something stuck in the overflow piping. This would block the water flow, only allowing your trickle through.

Re: Durso stopped working

That is the only thing that it could be. Something has to be clogging the pipe.

Re: Durso stopped working

I checked the durso. No blockage. Could there be blockage in the hose leading from the overflow to the sump?

Re: Durso stopped working

There could be, but if water is flowing through it fine without the durso...
