ro/di units, sorry to place this here, but it has the most traffic

I am at the point where I would really love to have a home ro / di unit. although there a few factors I need to keep in mind. It is an apartment so I can't just go hook up to the hose and I can't necessarily alter the plumbing. I could tap into the tap water though. my next issue is water pressure and mine is pretty darn good for an apartment or house for that matter, but I do not have any experience with how much is good to push the ro / di units that are on the market. I know Coralife sells a nice little 3 or 4 stage unit that includes a pump for such needs, but again dont know if I necessarily need that.
I just need to hear from some people about what they think and how they use their home ro / di units under similiar circumstances. Or even just something like which unit they have and how well they work. If they have universal attachements for kitchen sink tap......

dont worry mate tap into the pipe under your tap the presure you can adjust through the ro unit by reducing or increasing the drip rate or flow through your ro unit .do you need more info.

Check out this page. You need a piercing saddle valve to tap into the house's water pipe. Or you can use a faucet coupler to hook up to the sink's faucet. You can even hook up to a garden hose with a garden hose adapter.

There's a "Bare Bones" model made by Kent- it's simple and transportable. I've seen people using a faucet adapter and having the unit rest in the sink.

I out of stupidity allowed my previous unit to freeze in my garage, it turned extremely cold overnight.

Anyway, It comes with everything you need. It even comes with the saddle fitting to tap into the water line. My previous unit needed to be assembled, plumbed and all of the filters came in bags. I was shocked when I recieved the filter guy's unit ... it was ready to be plugged in as soon as it was removed form the box.

As far as quality goes ... they are tip top. They use only the best components, prefilters, carbon and membranes. Sure there is plenty of cheap junk on eBay, but I can tell you that you would blow a ton of dough having to buy the unit and find that you will need to replace all of your filter elements from the eBay units. I'm sure that there's good stuff on eBay too, but unless you know all about what you NEED in terms of quality, I wouldn't risk it.

I'm sure you would be completely satisfied with the $135.00 - OCEAN WAVE FIVE STAGE 75 GPD RO/DI. That is what I used for 3 years until I accidently destroyed it and upgraded to the unit with the larger vertical DI housing.

Randy, you are the third person to mention those guys and everything I've heard has been nothing but the best. It just so happens that it was just today I purchesed the same one as you did, with the TDS meter also, but none the less the same one. I actually thought what the heck and called them today and Jim, (if I recall) one of the owners answered and talked with me for almost fifteen minutes just answering any and all questions I had, thoroughly. So I decided to go with them. I should have it in a week or so! No more lugging around 5 gallon jugs!
