Mag pump questions

1. Has anyone done any mods to mag pumps to increase performance? I was looking at the coverplate and I think it could be done like a maxi jet mod as far as the holes being drilled in the cover.

2. If my outlet from the sump splits into 2 do they need to be the exact same length? If possible I want to have one empty up high and one empty lower in the tank. I think this might cause more pressure on the outlet with the least resistance aka the shorter one. If this is the case I'll have to figure something else out.

1) Nope haven't tried that.

2) You are right the lower hose will move more water, but I don't think it will cause any problems.

You need to make sure the pipe that is lower in your tank doesn't suck water back in when the power goes off, or else you'll overflow your sump cause the water level in the tank will go down to the level of the pipe. You can poke a hole in the plumbing near the top of the water so it sucks in air when the power goes off.
