Why for it got to be me?

Really it's pretty simple. Acquire the hose/tube you want to use (make sure it is clean and dry), please one end in the aquarium holding it underwater, and briskly suck, only for a brief second, on the other end and the water will begin to move through the tube. Make sure that the end you are sucking on is lower than the end that is end the aquarium.

Re: How Do You Use A Siphon

Common, we're talking about a siphon tube for changing saltwater.

Re: How Do You Use A Siphon

"Briskly sucking" aside, you can also start a siphon in your tank.

1. Immerse tube and hose in tank.

2. Taking care to keep both under water, lift one end of the tube under water to allow air bubbles to be released. This may take a couple of times.

3. Once bubbles are completely out of tube and it is full of water, place the vacuumed end into sand, and cover the other end of the hose with your thumb. Remove (thumb still covering) hose and place into a bucket. Release thumb from hose, and voila!, water should be siphoning into bucket.
