Remora Skimmer

I have had my remora skimmer for over a month now, and it hasn't been pulling any skimmate out. It has a maxi jet and the airline tubing takes the maxi jet about 5 inches below the surface just over a few pieces of LR. It makes a sucking noise every few seconds and there has been NO skimmate coming going into the cup. it is running and the water is still coming out of the return. Any ideas?

Lower the collection cup to the lowest setting.

This "sucking noise" is coming from the maxijet? What does it sound like? Why is it every few seconds?

Not sure what you mean about the airline tubing either?

Re: Remora Skimmer

I use a remora pro and it works fine, it has to be something about the way it's set up, can you take a pic?
I think what he means by airline tubing is he added a piece of tubing from the intake nozzle to the pump so it's properly submersed, is this right?

Re: Remora Skimmer

Sounds like you are getting air into the maxi from somewhere. You might also have something clogging the injector of the skimmer. Try cleaning the injector, and see if this is the problem. If this does not do the trick call Aqua C, those guys are very customer friendly.
